POSITION SUMMARY

 

Grinnell College is currently seeking an energetic, motivated, and well-organized Administrative Assistant II for the Admissions department. The Administrative Assistant II is a member of the admission operations team and works with the administrative database functions and computer operations to support the Office of Admission. The position serves as the lead processor of international student application materials and aids with domestic application processing as needed. This role assists prospective students, parents, and school counselors by phone and email as they work through the process of completing an admission application. The Administrative Assistant II reports to the Admission Data & Operations Administrator and works closely with the Director of International Admission.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide support for administrative database functions and computer operations.
  • Supports the international student application process.
  • Back up to Front Desk Receptionist
  • Cross train and other clerical duties as needed.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  •  High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Three years or more relative work experience
  • Commitment to the College’s articulated mission and core values
  • Champions diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Highest level of confidentiality maintained.
  • Strong command of the Microsoft Office suite applications, Teams, and WebEx 
  • Detailed oriented and well organized.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skill, including grammar and spelling.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Proven communicator with the ability to effectively utilize various modes of communication.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple responsibilities, frequent interruptions, and exercise independent judgment.
