SE*ED Topic - Back Pain and Its Treatment: March 8, 2010

Back pain is a common ailment for many adults and can greatly impact daily life. Gene S. Gessner, MD, will provide an overview of back pain and the many treatments available at the Grinnell Regional Medical Center Pain Clinic at the Monday, March 8 GRMC Senior Education (SE*ED) program.

The program begins at 10 a.m. in the Caulkins Community Room at the Drake Community Library. Please know that seating is limited to the first 100 people. There is no cost to attend and no advance registration is needed for the SE*ED program; donations are accepted. Seniors needing transportation may call GRMC’s Office of Public Relations at 641-236-2593 the Thursday before the program.

Gessner completed his medical degree, internship, and anesthesiology residency at the University of Iowa College of Medicine and UI Hospitals and Clinics. He also earned a pain management fellowship from the University of New Mexico School of Medicine.

The SE*ED program is currently on its winter schedule. Starting April 5, the program returns to its weekly schedule with a variety of programs every Monday morning. Bob VanErsvelde opens the weekly schedule on April 5 with the program, “Birding with Bob.”
