Event Description:

Join the Claude W. & Dolly Ahrens Foundation along with the Greater Poweshiek Community Foundation for their Nonprofit education Workshop Series. This months presentation is on Nonprofit Recruitment & Succession Planning.

Wendesday, February 19th - 11:30am - 1pm (lunch included) at the Foundation Offices.

Paul G. Thelen, director of the Larned A. Waterman Iowa Nonprofit Resource Center at the University of Iowa will be leading the session on recruitment & succession planning. A comprehensive succession plan goes beyond preparing for th etranisition of the chief executive, it can strengthen a nonprofit's ability to recruit, develop, and retain talen throughout the organization.
At the conclusion of this session, participants will:

  • Have increased awareness and knowledge of the most recent succession planning research and theories;
  • Have learned some skills and acquired some tools to help implement succession planning best practices; and
  • Have started to develp a vision to sare with others for how succession planning can strengthen individuals, organizations, and the sector.
