Jed Gammell, CIC:
Jed has practiced in commercial insurance for 20 years, typically working with middle-market and larger middle-market customers with a focus on real estate & construction, hospitality, and executive & financial lines markets. Jed partnered with Lincoln Savings Bank in 2016 to build out their financial service suite of programs.
Jed lives in Waukee and has three sons; two in college at UNI & University of Virginia respectively, and a sophomore at Waukee High School.
Benjamin Smith, Sergeant:
Sergeant Benjamin Smith has worked for the Grinnell Police Department since 2017. He has two associate degrees, one associate of arts from Kirkwood Community College with criminal justice emphasis, and another associate of science from Cochise College with high academic honors in intelligence operations studies. He will graduate this December from Purdue University global with a Bachelor of Science in criminal justice with homeland security emphasis. Aside from his police department duties, he also has been in the Iowa Army National Guard for 10 years. In the military he has had specialized training on use of electronic systems with respect to open-source data operations, information security, and operations security.
Sergeant Benjamin Smith has held many roles in the Grinnell Police Department. Those include Advanced Roadside Impairment Detection and Enforcement (ARIDE), salvage vehicle inspector, crime prevention officer, field training officer, firearms instructor, tactical team member, and grant writer. He has been in investigations since 2019 and is currently the supervisor of the investigations division. He has specialized training and experience in investigating fraud, and has worked to put together multiple community awareness events regarding fraud and related offenses.
