While things appear to be returning to normal, many Grinnellians still need help recovering from the Derecho. Clean-up can be a lot to handle on one’s own, and residents still need assistance removing large limbs and other debris. Debris removal also often involves equipment like chainsaws that many people may not have or know how to use. Our office is working with Sarah Smith who has been working to coordinate volunteer efforts in the community to develop forms to help manage volunteer needs.
The form below is for those who need assistance with clean-up in their yards, which could involve help with raking, heavy lifting, and taking down damaged limbs. Another form below is for those who would like to volunteer to help clean-up, whether you have equipment or not. Please complete the appropriate form to help us connect volunteers to those who need assistance throughout Grinnell. If you have questions, please call 641-236-6555.
