The Assistant Dean of Students will assist students who are struggling with navigating the resources and support on campus in an effort to improve the coordination of care and the retention of our students. This position will lead comprehensive approaches to address distressed and distressing students. The Assistant Dean of Students bridges the gap between individual students, on- and off-campus services, and internal processes and staff. Through that work, efforts and interventions will be tracked in order to best determine efficacy; improvements will be suggested to increase retention.
The Assistant Dean supports the Dean of Students through coordination of student conduct cases and can lead in the Dean’s absence. The position also oversees the planning and implementation of New Student Orientation and the First Year Experience course. As such, they supervise the professional and student staff that contribute to these first year programs.
