Description
Grinnell College seeks an assistant women’s basketball coach. This assistant coach will work with the head coach to develop and maintain a positive student-athlete experience that focuses on student-athlete development, building an inclusive culture, recruiting elite prospective student-athletes, and contributing positively to the College’s Athletic Department. The coach will help create purpose and value to the College’s and the Athletic Department missions.
This is a term position working 1300 hours in the fiscal year and is eligible for benefits.
This role requires some travel and the ability work nights, and weekends.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with specific sub-groups of student athletes, practice planning, video/technical review, and analysis.
- Conduct team, group and individual meetings with students focusing on skill development and team culture building.
- Could include travel planning, equipment management, maintenance of facility, monitoring student-athlete academic success.
- Work with head coaches and the enrollment office to identify, target, recruit and yield high-level student athletes, and support a diverse group of academically and athletically talented student-athletes.
- Serve as assistant event manager or assistant strength and conditioning coach within the Athletics Department
- Perform other duties as assigned by the athletic department.
