Description

Grinnell College is currently seeking a service oriented person with flexible time, to be part of the Pioneer Bookshop located in downtown Grinnell. This position is call-in hours up to 10 hours per week. Times will vary to cover when needed for other staff during lunch, vacations and illness. Hours will occur between 8am and 6pm Monday – Friday and Saturday 9am – 5pm.

We are looking for a person who wants to create a friendly, comfortable place to shop. The primary responsibility is customer service, greeting customers as they enter, responding to their needs and completing the sales transaction at the cash register, as well as computerized data entry and inventory control functions.

Requirements

  • One year of experience
  • Cash handling procedures, cash register operations experience preferred
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Values diversity, equity and inclusion
