Description
This person ensures compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Implement compliance regulations into business processes, working closely with government agencies to understand current legislation and keep informed of new and pending legislation. Prepares supporting legal documents such as briefs, contracts, and other filings. Works closely with outside counsel to represent Brownells in legal matters.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responds to legal inquiries and complaints issued by governmental bodies or individual plaintiffs
- Maintains and organizes contracts for multiple areas of company business
- Develops and maintains case file indexing system that is used as an active archive for all ongoing and completed investigations
- Monitors and reports changes in regulations and case law applicable to Brownells business and assesses their potential impact
- Serves as liaison with federal investigators and auditors on special projects and investigations
- Complies and analyzes contract data as it pertains to compliance to analyze risk profiles
- Conducts various types of research related to laws, legal articles and other information relevant to a case
- Identify compliance issues through auditing that require follow-up or investigation
- Analyzes compliance data, detection and analysis of red flags, and creation of reports from the Brownells database
- Manages patents and trademarks
- Drafts and reviews various legal documents including non-disclosure agreements, vendor agreements, and contracts
- Works directly with outside legal counsel to arrive at solutions that ensure Brownells can withstand legal challenges
- Creates and implements data privacy data policy and procedures
- Formulates response to legal inquiries and complaints issued by governmental bodies or individual plaintiffs
- Responds to and compiles data for subpoenas, data privacy requests, and ATF trace requests
- Maintains and organizes contracts for multiple areas of company business
