Description

Grinnell College, Department of Physical Education/Intercollegiate Athletics, has a part-time Recreation Assistant for Club Sports & Outdoor Recreation position available. This is a 9 month, part-time (15 – 20 hours/week) position and does not qualify for benefits.

The Recreation Assistant for Club Sports & Outdoor Recreation will assist in the logistical planning, coordination, and operation for the Club Sports programs (Open and Women’s only Ultimate Frisbee teams and Co-ed and Women’s only Water Polo teams) and the Grinnell Outdoor Recreation Program (GORP). Duties include planning trips for both Club Sports and Outdoor Recreation. This would include driving and scheduling buses for the club sports teams to go to events for competition and making hotel arrangements for the teams. The position also manages the GORP equipment and plans and participates in multi-day recreation trips provided to students such as biking, hiking, canoeing and other outdoor activities.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Valid driver’s license with no traffic violations.
  • Must be able to drive minivans, large 11-passenger vans, and minibus during day and night driving times.
  • Must be able to work late afternoon, evenings, and weekends.
  • PR/First Aid/AED certification are preferred.
