Description

Pricing analyst will help 2A determine competitive pricing strategies to gain market share and achieve revenue goals. They analyze data from multiple sources, develop complex pricing models, and collaborate with sales, marketing and merchandising teams to develop category margin strategies.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Serves as the go-to executor on price list updates and cost/price uploads
  • Works closely with Category/Product Mgr Teams to understand and execute margin goals by category
  • Occasionally works with factory contacts to uncover errors and fix pricing issues
  • Serves as a liaison between buying and planning team to assist in AP discrepancies
  • Executes pricing strategies developed by merchandising teams
  • Communicates with across departments to gain insight on pricing goals
  • Review margin reports daily to ensure pricing and margin accuracy
  • Assists in the new product setup to ensure all pricing flows into system accurately
  • Starts to identify opportunity and trends for category margin improvement
  • Starts to understand competitive landscape for both wholesale and direct channels
  • Communicates with category management team to identify possible margin threats and opportunities
  • Has the ability to start making strategic pricing decisions without direct supervision
  • Has developed or is developing strategic relationships with our Tier 1 and Tier 2 factory contacts
  • Leadership looks to this position for pricing concerns and opportunities
  • Pricing/Margin ideas are being developed to present to category team for suggestions
  • Has immense knowledge of pricing/margin landscape within all 2A channels
  • Can navigate most complex category strategies with little or limited direction
  • Can quantify margin growth/improvement and present to entire organization in a sound and consistent manner
  • Merchandising team looks to this position for help in achieving category level goals
  • Uncovers and executes pricing strategies to improve/maintain category level metrics along with 2A initiatives
  • Strategic factory partners look to this person for pricing insights on where and how their products fit into our industry and price channel

 

Requirements

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required
  • Ten plus years of relevant experience or equivalent education (BA/BS degree and 7 years of relevant experience)
  • BA/BS degree preferred, but not required

Physical Demands

Sedentary work. Sedentary work involves lifting no more than 10 pounds at a time and occasionally lifting or carrying articles like docket files, ledgers, and small tools. Although a sedentary job is defined as one which involves sitting, a certain amount of walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required occasionally and other sedentary criteria are met.
