POSITION SUMMARY

The Academic Institutional Research Analyst is responsible for designing and implementing the research and analysis functions of the division of Academic Affairs under the direction of the Registrar and the Director of Institutional Research. The Analyst develops and conducts analyses of quantitative data to enhance the review, reporting, and assessment activities for academic departments, centers, committees, and staff. The Analyst works to support the College’s Common Good (Community; Educational Excellence and Continuity; Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion; Health and Well-Being; and Financial Sustainability). 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide data in support of forecasting the resource needs of Academic Affairs. 
  • Develop and maintain survey guidance and guidelines for use by campus community.
  • Build reports for core metrics, federal reporting requirements, and program reviews.
  • Assist with translating enrollment data for use in institution-wide and external reporting.
  • Assist with developing workflow processes that foster departmental continuity.
  • Develop datasets and summary reports in response to ad-hoc requests from the campus community. 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Effectively able to utilize SQL, Access, Excel, and SPSS (or other statistics software)
  • 3 years or more of work experience 
  • Ability to utilize interpersonal skills to collaborate across all levels of campus and community constituency
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and efficiently manage daily work demands
  • Ability to adapt to the varying challenges within the work environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively utilizing verbal and written modes of communications
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment
  • Champion of diversity, equity, and inclusion
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency in any programming language (i.e., Python or R)
  • Experience with, or ability to learn, data visualization tools such as Tableau and Microsoft Power BI
