POSITION SUMMARY 

The Microsoft systems administrator is responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of on-premises and cloud-based Microsoft enterprise services. These services include Active Directory, MFA, Windows Server OS, and enterprise messaging systems. The administrator ensures the availability and reliability of these services that are essential to support the mission of the College. Working with IT leadership, technical staff, and customers, the administrator provides technical leadership to projects from design to delivery, including helping define requirements and implementing and evaluating solutions. 


Up to 3 days per week remote work allowed.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Operational support, management, administration, enhancement of directory services. 
  • Plan, coordinate, and perform maintenance, patching, and upgrades 
  • Daily monitoring, verification of security, compliance, privacy, performance and availability of directory servers and IAM platforms. 
  • Ensuring availability and suitability of systems and software 
  • Incident management response 

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university in Information Technology, Computer Science and/or a related discipline with 3 years’ experience OR 
  • Associate degree in Information Technology or a related discipline and a minimum of 5-years’ experience

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Certifications: Active Directory and Office 365 management or desire to become certified 
  • Proven experience and expert knowledge in: Active Directory, Azure AD, GPO administration, Microsoft 365 messaging platforms, enterprise email security platforms (ProofPoint preferred) 
  • Proved experience: MFA platforms (DUO preferred), IAM platforms/integrations, Windows Server OS, enterprise storage 
  • Basic knowledge and experience: Networks, VMWare platform 
  • Knowledge of Configuration as Code, scripting and automation 
  • Ability to plan, organize, and efficiently manage daily work demands 
  • Ability to utilize interpersonal skills to collaborate and communicate effectively across the work environment 
  • Able to work independently and as a member of a team
