Drake Community Library is excited to offer an opportunity for individuals passionate about community health and service to join our team as a Community Resource Navigator through the AmeriCorps program. This position will play a crucial role in enhancing public health outreach and accessibility in our community.


In collaboration with the AmeriCorps program, the library aims to address public health needs, focusing on food security and resource navigation efforts. Through this initiative, the library aims to strengthen our community by improving service quality, cultural competency, and community engagement.


The Community Resource Navigator will serve as a front-line health outreach coordinator, acting as a vital resource navigator. They will facilitate access to essential services and serve as a liaison between community members and available resources. This role involves providing expert responses to community resource inquiries. Additionally, the member will contribute to evaluating the need, process, and effectiveness of a community health navigator at the library.


The position entails 21 hours per week over 24 weeks, with a proposed start date of April 26th and an end date of October 11th. Benefits include a living allowance of $5,467 and an education award of $1,824.07. Successful completion of the term of service will also earn the candidate a Community Health Workers Professional Skills Certification.
