Drake Community Library
According to the National Council on Aging, 3 million injuries from falls are
treated in the emergency room every year. Join the UnityPoint Health ® - Grinnell
Regional Medical Center (GRMC) Foundation’s Senior Education Program to
hear from GRMC’s Janet Lacey, RN, manager of patient experience and quality,
and Lesa Peters, RN, on Monday, January 13. (This program was rescheduled
from November 11, 2019.)
Lacey and Peters will share multiple fall prevention methods. Their presentation
will equip attendees with knowledge and techniques to stay safe from falls this
winter season. Their instruction is designed to help build confidence and reduce
falls, specifically in older adults. They will demonstrate exercises and strategies
to help prevent falling.
The program is free and open to the public. It will be held at 10 a.m. in the Drake
Community Library, with refreshments beginning at 9:30 a.m.
Parking is available at the Drake Community Library, along Park Street, on Fifth
Avenue and in the First Presbyterian Church parking lot. Seniors needing
transportation may call Grinnell Regional Medical Center Foundation at (641)
