The Grinnell League of Women Voters is sponsoring a Better Ballot Iowa presentation and discussion on Ranked Choice Voting on Monday March 6, 2023 from 7:00 -7:45 PM at Drake Community Library, 930 Park Street, Grinnell. This short presentation and Q&A will feature Better Ballot Iowa, a non-partisan organization. This grassroots initiative's focus is to improve Iowa elections and empower voters by adopting reforms like Ranked Choice Voting (RCV). Ranked Choice Voting will help Iowa elections to become more competitive, hold our elected officials more accountable, and give Iowans more choice! The presenter, Matt Wetstein lives in Ames with his wife and two children, Zach (10) and Joey (7). He is a professor at Iowa State University. By day he studies an enigmatic ghostlike particle called the neutrino. By night, he moonlights as a voting reformer. Matt used to have many more hobbies, including a short lived stint in a band, before focusing on his career and family. Matt decided to get involved in politics because he wants to leave a better America for his children.
