Event Details:
Location Description:Join us in the Marion Austin Jones Classroom at the Grinnell School of Music. The building, located at 720 5th Avenue, is fully accessible. Event Description:A low-pressure evening of music-making! This event is for adults (18+), and no experience is necessary. Each session features a different hit song from the last 50+ years of pop music. Our first event, September 10, will feature the classic "Turn, Turn, Turn" by Pete Seeger, as immortalized by The Byrds. You don't need to know how to read music, and whether you know the tune or not, our instructors will guide you through learning the melody and harmony parts step-by-step. By the end of the night, we’ll sing the full song together in 2- or 3-part harmony. Group singing has been shown to boost mood, reduce stress, and create a sense of belonging—plus, it’s just plain fun. Pop-Up Choir is a great way to connect with others, build confidence, and experience the joy of shared musical expression. Enjoy a relaxed atmosphere and complimentary snacks and beverages. Advance registration is appreciated! Drop-ins will be accommodated as space allows. https://fons.app/@grinnellschoolofmusic/book/classes/16c8fa32-6beb-11f0-9da6-5f3df1e36a36 |
