Event Description:Celebrate the kick-off to the holiday shopping season with Grinnell Chamber's annual Jingle Bell Holiday! Join us on Friday, November 21 from 5-8 PM in downtown Grinnell. Guests are invited to enjoy festive activities including the lighting of the Central Park decorations, activities and promotions at a variety of businesses, horse drawn carriage rides, and receive double punches on holiday punch cards on all purchases made throughout the evening. Bring your friends and family for some free holiday fun! Schedule of Activities:5-8 PM: Business Open Houses & Winter Farmers Market 5:15 PM: Performances by Michelle's Dance Academy* & Steppin' Out Dance Studio* followed by Central Park decoration lighting 5:30 PM: Photos with Santa begin at Grinnell State Bank* (last admission at 7:30 PM); photos by Cory Hall Photography, Carriage Rides begin at the corner of 4th Ave & Broad St. Participants & ActivitiesMany businesses and organizations will be hosting kid activities, crafts, refreshments, open houses and other activities during the evening. More businesses and organizations (*denotes Grinnell Chamber of Commerce Member) participating in the evening festivities will be added in the coming weeks. Grinnell Area Arts Council*: Local Artist Market will be open from 12 - 8 PM & Too Many String Band will be performing. Empty Bowls Fundraiser will help support MICA, too (soup not included). Grin City Bakery*: Assorted old-fashioned ring donuts available for purchase. Grinnell Farm to Table*: Hot cider and roasted chestnuts available to try! Grinnell School of Music*: Sing holiday carols along with a live pianist and color-your-own ornament featuring the building mural! Grinnell United Church of Christ*: Hosting Grinnell Children's Choir who will perform in the sanctuary at 5:30 PM followed by family activities, festive treats and Christmas crafts downstairs in the Friendship Hall. Loralei's Giftshoppe*: live music from Craig and Company; homemade treats. Jay's Deli*: Stop in for samples of hot cocoa shakes! Seasonal soups and other items available for purchase. Jensen Optometrist: Cookies, hot cocoa and a fun photo booth Pioneer Bookshop*: Kids' craft available. Poweshiek Animal League Shelter (PALS)*: adoptable kittens at Hair of the Dog and puppies to play with at Mahaska Communication Group. PWA Fitness Center*: Join the fun with hot Chocolate, swag gear and holiday themed workout videos for kids!
