Event Description:Did you know? Iowa has the 2nd highest rate of new cancer diagnoses in the US, and rates are rising! In Poweshiek County, 126 people are diagnesed with cancer each year, on average. Poweshiek County ranks #76 for new cancer rates in Iowa (where #1 is highest and #99 is lowest). Join experts from the Iowa Cancer Registry to learn about cancer trends, statistics, and risk factors in Poweshiek County. During this session, representatives from the 99 Counties Project will present the latest cancer data for Poweshiek County, including comparisons to state and national averages. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions, share community concerns, and offer ideas for improving cancer outcomes in our county.
