Overview:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Color Guard Coach to lead our high school color guard program. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in color guard performance and a passion for working with student-athletes, ensuring their growth in both skills and teamwork. While previous directing experience is preferred, a proven history as a performer in color guard is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Leadership:
Plan, organize, and execute instructional sessions for the color guard program.
Develop drills and routines that integrate both technique and performance artistry.
Event Coordination:
Lead and coordinate activities during Summer Marching Band Camp.
Conduct morning and 1st period rehearsals with a focus on refining performance skills.
Support color guard participation during home football games.
Prepare teams for 2-3 competitions per year, managing logistics and performance details.
Collaboration:
Work closely with the band director and other music staff to align the color guard’s performance with overall program goals.
Foster a team-oriented environment that encourages student growth, creativity, and discipline.
Student Development:
Mentor students, providing both technical guidance and positive encouragement.
Time Commitment:
Summer Marching Band Camp participation.
Daily morning rehearsals and first period sessions.
Attendance at home football games.
Additional commitment for 2-3 annual competitions.
