The Mid-America Chamber Executives association recognized the Grinnell Area Chamber of Commerce as the recipient of its “Publication of the Year” award during its annual conference that took place May 4-6 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
The Mid-America Chamber Executives (MACE) recognizes chambers of commerce in four award categories at their annual conference each May. The categories are Event of the Year, Executive of the Year, Public Policy of the Year and Publication of the Year.
MACE is made up of chamber professionals belonging to their state chamber executive organization or state chamber of commerce in the six-state area of Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin. MACE is the go-to organization for chamber news, resources and networking in the Upper Midwest.
Chambers in the six-state region were invited to nominate their newsletters, e-newsletters, printed guide and other publications for the Publication of the Year award, and the Grinnell Chamber’s weekly ‘Get Into Grinnell E-Newsletter’ was selected as a finalist. Other finalists are the Fargo Moorhead West Fargo Chamber of Commerce newsletter and the Bismark-Mandan Chamber of Commerce newsletter.
“Whether you are a longtime Grinnellian, just moving to town or just plain interested in the Grinnell community, our newsletter is a great source of community information,” said Tourism Director Emily Counts, who oversees publishing of the newsletter.
Approximately 6,000 community members subscribe to the Grinnell Chamber’s weekly e-newsletter. It shares community news and updates including upcoming events, job opportunities, and other announcements.
“One of our organization’s goals is to be a hub for community information, and our e-newsletter is a fantastic avenue for sharing information with the general community about current happenings at our member businesses and organizations,” Counts said.
“It is an honor to be recognized as a finalist from among the thousands of quality publications published by chambers of all sizes across the six-state region.”
