Toaster kicks off Friday Fest series June 3

Toaster, a rock and roll cover band, will perform a free concert at Friday Fest on Friday, June 3, in downtown Grinnell.

Toaster will perform on stage from 7 to 10 p.m.  Toaster is a cover band that performs covers of songs from a wide range of artists from Led Zeppelin, Van Halen, and Cheap Trick, to Poision, Rick Springfield and ACDC.

The public is invited to attend Friday Fest, and there is no admission charge. In addition to live music, there will be a beverage garden. Friday Fest is family-friendly and there will be inflatables for children to enjoy with the purchase of a wristband.

Friday Fest will take place on Main Street between Fourth and Fifth Avenues, and the event is sponsored by Ahrens Park Foundation, Grinnell College and Grinnell Mutual.

Friday Fest events are also scheduled for Saturday, July 2, and Friday, August 5. The July 2 event is in conjunction with the Grinnell-Newburg All-Class Reunion activities and will feature music by rock cover band Whiplash and other bands made up of Grinnell-Newburg alumni from 7 to 11:30 p.m. The August 5 Friday Fest will feature music by King of the Tramps from 7 to 10 p.m.

Friday Fest is open to all ages free of charge. All 2016 Friday Fests will take place on Main Street between Fourth and Fifth Avenues.
