Ready for Spring!

It FINALLY feels like spring now and believe it or not we're only 17 days from the first day of the Grinnell Farmers Market! My guess is this late spring (since it finally decided to show up) will greatly inhibit our producers' ability to get things planted and therefore push the 'produce season' back a little, but we will most definitely still have vendors with product available the first week of market. The Grinnell Farmers Market will kick off May 10 and will take place at Central Park on Thursday afternoons from 3 to 6 p.m. and Saturday mornings from 10 a.m. to noon.

The market features a variety of product including produce, breads, meats, baked goods, eggs, crafts and much more. We are currently seeking additional vendors to participate in this year's market. If you might be interested in getting involved, or know someone who would, please take a look at our rules and sign-up here. We're also in the process of identifying musicians to play throughout the season -- if you know someone who might be interested, send us a note

Again this year, SNAP benefits and EBT transactions will be accepted at the market. Users will receive tokens for their transaction amount which can be redeemed with all vendors. We'll also feature our Grinnell Market Fresh program again this year, which debuted last season and offers a great and easy way to prepare dinner and support the market. You can find more information on these programs and other offerings throughout the season at www.GrinnellFarmersMarket.com.
