Event Details:
Event Description:This is Grinnell Rotary Club's annual fundraiser. Proceeds fund the many community projects undertaken by the Rotary Club during the year. Started in 1954, this popular event signals the beginning of summer fun in Grinnell as it has been traditionally conducted on the first Thursday after school lets out. Rotarians set up the grill on 5th Avenue the day before. They barbecue about a thousand chicken halves all day. Downtowners are treated to the enticing smell of Rotary's secret sauce as the chicken sizzles on the hot grill. This event offers fun, food, and fellowship as it is held on the the same day as the weekly Farmer's Market and Music in the Park. Location: Pick up chicken meals on Park St. in front of United Methodist Church, across from Drake Community Library |
