A Mother's Compass

Overview

Pregnant and have questions about what birth is actually going to be like? Ask a Doula is a free monthly drop-in at A Mother’s Compass in Grinnell, where expecting parents can get practical answers to their questions about labor, birth, and preparing for the early days with a new baby. Wondering when to go to the hospital? What an induction actually involves? How to prepare for an unmedicated birth, or an epidural birth, or a c-section? What belongs in a birth plan? What your partner can do during labor? What you really need to have ready before baby comes? Bring your questions. There’s no presentation and no agenda, just a chance to sit down with a birth doula and childbirth educator and get clear, practical information about the things you’ve been wondering about. Partners are encouraged, no appointment needed.
