Back to School Kickoff Concert

Overview

Head downtown to Grinnell’s Central Park for a back-to-school concert, a festive opportunity for the community to reconnect after the summer, welcome new faces, and celebrate the start of a new school year together. 

Beginning at 6 PM, enjoy music, arts and crafts, and activities in the park before the Final Mix Show Band takes the stage at 7 PM.

Hosted by Grinnell College in partnership with the City of Grinnell, the event brings together students, educators, families, and community members for an evening of live music, food trucks, and community fun for all ages.

Everyone is welcome to attend this free public celebration, including students, families, educators, and community members from Grinnell and surrounding communities. Bring a picnic blanket or lawn chair, grab a bite from a food truck, and get ready to enjoy an evening of music, creativity, and connection in the park. Whether you come to dance along with the Final Mix Show Band, enjoy arts and crafts with friends and family, or simply relax and reconnect with neighbors, there will be something for everyone to enjoy.
