Dr. Lisa Payne Ossian and Free Admission Hour

Grinnell Historical Museum is pleased to announce the event "Dr. Lisa Payne Ossian and Free Admission Hour" that will be held on April 17, 2026 from 1-3 p.m. at the Grinnell Historical Museum.

Free admission to the museum between 1-2 PM. Dr. Ossian will speak from 2-3 PM. Visitors are encouraged to arrive early enough to view the brand new exhibit The Land: A History of Farming in Poweshiek County. This exciting new exhibit traces how local communities grew and adapted from the prairie era until the 1930s. Dr. Ossian’s presentation will highlight the “Farm Front” during World War II, exploring how ordinary citizens, much like those in our own community, responded and adapted to the challenges of wartime.

This event is free and open to the public. No registration required.
