Jam Band A

Overview

For 1st and 2nd Graders: Jam Band 101 is a game-based, songwriting-centered class that inspires collaboration and communication through music. Kids learn music fluencies, practice basic instrument technique, gain confidence in their creativity and find joy in music.

Jam Band 101 is perfect for total beginners, as well as for kids with 1-2 years of band and/or private lesson experience. Kids who do well in Jam Band 101 are excited to try out all the instruments and enjoy playing games and learning in a group setting. Through music games and songwriting, students learn core music fluencies (rhythm, harmony, melody, and songwriting), practice basic instrument technique and explore rock band instruments (piano, guitar, bass, drums, and vocals).

This is a year-round program consisting of two 15-week sessions during the school year. If there is space available students may join at any point during the year.

This session will run on Mondays from 6:30-7:15 PM now through January 25, 2027. With skills developing quickly or performances on the horizon, registration cannot stay open indefinitely so join an early class and get registered for the session today!
