Overview
Hand-building is the heart and soul of ceramics—and arguably the most versatile, accessible way to get your hands dirty and create stunning pottery right from day one. In this five-session, beginner-friendly course with Jane Mertens, you’ll explore the foundational techniques of clay construction: pinch pots, coil building, and slab work, plus proper clay prep, tool selection, glaze application and essential studio etiquette.
By the end of this course, you’ll walk away with custom handmade pieces (think mugs, trinket dishes, and planter pots) and the confidence to navigate any clay studio with ease.
