Through a collaborative effort involving Grinnell-Newburg School District and the Drake Community Library and financial support from the Grinnell Community Education Council, the Library will be hosting a series of parenting classes beginning September 11th. Strategies & Tips for Extraordinary Parenting is free and open to the public. Parents experiencing this course will come away with increased understanding of their family relationships and communication styles.
Designed for parents of K-6 age children, the course will be held at the library from 5:30-7:30 PM on seven Tuesday evenings: September 11, 18, 25 and October 2,9,16, 23. October 30 is also reserved as an additional date if needed. An evening meal for parents and children and onsite childcare will be provided. Teachers of K-6 graders are also welcome and encouraged to attend.
Drake Community Library is located at 930 Park Street, Grinnell. An evening meal for both parents and children will be served at 5:30. Additionally, childcare with bedtime snack will be provided as are all course materials. Participants will benefit the most by attending all seven sessions of Strategies & Tips for Extraordinary Parenting. Pre-registration is required with a soft deadline of September 5th.
