Skills Gap Initiative

Primary and secondary education is essential for learning the core skills that our country's employers require. The Skills Gap Initiative was born in an effort to expose students to a work environment where they can further their professional skills.

In the spring of 2016, a partnership between Grinnell-Newburg High School and Grinnell Mutual Reinsurance Company was launched to create an opportunity for six senior students to earn both high school and college credit while applying classroom learning in a structured business environment in their final trimester of high school. The intention is to expand this program during the 2016-17 academic year.
