Give your feet a break and catch a matinee with your sweetie or friends at the Strand 3 Theater. The renovated theater is a first-run tri-plex and is the perfect place for an afternoon movie and popcorn. What better place to recreate first-date romance?
Time for Heart-Stopping Sweet Stroll!
What’s a girls’ day without a little shopping? And of course, what is Valentine’s Day without a little retail romance? Spend your evening (5-8 PM) with us at the The Sweet Stroll! It is the time to shop, but with a fun, Valentine’s Day themed twist!
During the Sweet Stroll, local Grinnell businesses will offer Valentine’s Day sweets and refreshments, as well as some sweet deals!
Loralei's Giftshoppe will offer live guitar featuring Ryan Dalby Albright, and free chocolates to those who stop in. At the Pioneer Bookshop, pop a ballon for prizes and discounts! Prizes include Valentine stuffies and books. Meanwhile, Beckman Gallery & Gifts will host an Art and Makers show, featuring 4-6 local artists. Their art will be on sale during the Sweet Stroll. Plus, complimentary wine samples for those 21 and over! The loveable part of this event? There are at least 8 other businesses participating in this event! End the Day With a Lovely Dinner
Wrap up your Valentine’s Day with a hot meal at a Grinnell staple, Pagliai's, a family-owned Italian restaurant serving pasta and heart-shaped pizza. Prairie Canary will also offer a wonderful Valentine’s Day dinner for you, your sweetie, and your friends! If Mexican food is calling your heart, visit the beautifully painted (and romantic!)
