Overview

The community is invited to meet Ken Kasper, the new Superintendent of Grinnell-Newburg Community School District (GNCSD), at a welcome event, hosted by a coalition of community partners led by the Grinnell-Newburg School Foundation (GNSF).

Event Details:

  • Time: 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM, with remarks from local leaders at 5:30 PM
  • Format: Open house - drop in anytime during the two-hour window

The event offers Grinnell residents, community leaders, and business owners an easy, low-pressure chance to meet Superintendent Ken Kasper before the new school year begins. “We are beyond excited to introduce Superintendent Kasper to our community,” said GNSF President Zane Strawser-Picado. “Our schools thrive when our community comes together with a shared purpose. This event is more than an introduction - it’s the beginning of a partnership dedicated to educational excellence, innovation, and most importantly, ensuring each student has the opportunity to reach their full potential.”

Community partners joining GNSF for the event include: Claude and Dolly Ahrens Foundation (CDAF), Double You Marketing, Drake Community Library, Greater Poweshiek Community Foundation (GPCF), Grinnell Chamber of Commerce, Grinnell College Office of Community Partnerships, Planning, and Research, Grinnell Education Partnership (GEP), Grinnell Mutual, Grinnell-Newburg School District, Poweshiek Economic Development Collaborative, and the Tiger Sports Live Stream Network.

Superintendent Kasper said he is looking forward to the chance to connect with the community. “I am honored to have the opportunity to serve Grinnell-Newburg and appreciate the many community partners who are helping make this event possible,” he said. “One of the things that drew me to this district was the strong pride and support people have for their schools. I look forward to meeting more members of the community, listening to what matters most to them, and working together to support the success of every student.”

All community members are encouraged to attend and offer a warm Grinnell welcome to Superintendent Ken Kasper.
