Proceeds from the breakfast are used for a variety of Grinnell Optimist Club projects to bring out the best in kids including Backpacks for Kids, National Night Out and aid to families who have children receiving medical treatment out of town.

Preparation for a baby involves education on what to expect, what happens in your body, how to care for yourself and your baby after delivery, breastfeeding and so much more. The local Grinnell market is an awesome place to shop for locally-grown produce, freshly baked goods, handcrafted items, and more. The market will be open every Thursday, 3-6 PM, and Saturday, 9:30 AM-12 PM in Central Park through Oct. 17. The Grinnell Farmers Market accepts cash and token transactions — but most importantly, money from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) program! On the corner of Broad St. and 4th Ave., find a staff member with a card reader to purchase SNAP EBT tokens. SNAP tokens can be used to purchase:
SNAP benefits can not be used to purchase non-food items (like crafts, clothes, or flowers), and hot food items intended for immediate consumption at the market, such as hot coffee or prepared hot foods.

Join UnityPoint Health - Grinnell's specially trained physical therapists for a focus on perinatal pelvic floor health. This class will cover common symptoms you may experience in pregnancy and following delivery related to your pelvic floor. A pelvic floor physical therapist will review how pelvic floor physical therapy can address common complaints related to hip and back pain in pregnancy, pelvic pain, incontinence and more! Topics include, but are not limited to, musculoskeletal driven pain in pregnancy related to hip/back/pelvic floor musculature, preparation for birth as it relates to the pelvic floor, bladder health, bowel health, pelvic pain and abdominal and hip muscle strengthening. Following the presentation, there will be a frequently asked questions session and open Q&A to address your specific questions as well as a demonstration of a few exercises you can do with baby!
