Event Description:In September, the Grinnell Jazz Ensemble presented “love songs” by artists ranging from Alice Coltrane to Sly & The Family Stone, in a tribute to the socially healing power of love. Sometimes, though, love isn’t enough. We must be prepared to fight for what we believe in. Join us for an evening of transformational protest music by Charles Mingus, George Michael, Woody Guthrie, and more. We will be soliciting donations for the LGBTQ+ advocacy organization, One Iowa, in memory of Miles Phipps, a transgender teen from Urbandale, IA, who passed away on November 4, 2025. |
